Tapas restaurant Sabor A Espana to open in former doll house shop

A vacant retail unit, that was most recently a shop selling doll houses, is set to be transformed into a tapas restaurant.

Sabor A Espana has been granted planning permission to open in the old Barbara Anne Miniatures unit, on New Street, Blackrod.

According to planning documents on the Bolton Council website, the restaurant will serve ‘traditional Spanish tapas’ and will create eight new jobs (including four full-time positions).

Planning sketches submitted by Atherton-based firm Plans 2 Extend suggest that there will be 40 covers, spread across nine tables, with an additional four seats at the bar.

Permission has been granted for the restaurant to open between 9am and 11.30pm Sunday to Thursday, and 9am to midnight on Friday and Saturday – although the planning statement states that exact opening and closing times are ‘to be determined.’

It remains to be seen when Sabor A Espana will open its doors, but hopefully it will be an exciting addition to Blackrod’s food and drink scene.

Will you be visiting Sabor A Espana when it opens? Let me know in the comments.
